Dvd upscale question

Hi everyone

I currently have a large Collection of movies (mostly Dvd's)

I use my Ps3 to play both my Blu Rays and Dvds but now im considering a new player for my Dvd's. Ive uprgaded all my HT gear so i would like to get the best pic/vid quality from my DVD's (hundreds of them)

Does the Ps3 do a good job of upcoverting them? Would something else do a better job? wasting my time or money? Is there anyone who has any experience on this subject?

Upgrade your DVD collection to Blu Ray discs. You cannot get more resolution out of a 480i dvd, period.

The PS3 is one of the best upscaling dvd players hands down, no reason to buy another player, if you aren't getting a decent picture from DVD's, you might wanna check the settings and make sure its being upscaled.

Upgrade your DVD collection to Blu Ray discs. You cannot get more resolution out of a 480i dvd, period.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and not to nitpick but; isn't DVD 480p?

480i until you do that progressive scan thing on it to de-interlace it and make it 480p.

I was thinking it would be a waste plus the Ps3 is one of the best but it doesnt hurt to ask!!!
