Tax refund check was deposited into my account today and no longer than 2 hrs after it did, I jumped on the SC-37 deal from the audioholics store. Just felt the need to tell someone who enjoys audio equipment, cause my fiance hates it!

Congradulations on the new AVR!!!

The SC-37 is one of the best recievers that you could have purchased to date PERIOD!!

I hope you were able to sit down & listen to at least a few recievers hooked up to the B&Ws b4 you made your buy. But either way I can tell you from experience that the PIO will really make those 683 sing & dance! The classD amps really hold up to their power ratings, even with 5 channels being driven, so dynamics will never be short. Since the 683 dip down to 3.2ohm occasionally, you need power with balls & that AVR has plenty!

I have a very similar setup as you can see from my signature below. I was actually dead set on either the new Denon 4311 or Pio SC-37. Then I came across the Yamaha & to my suprise I LOVED what it did to the 683s. There is something about how different components work together, "synergy" as some call it. But i tell you that the SC-37 does an incredible job & if i wasnt planning on getting a seperate power amp down the line to increase the usable power the Yamaha puts out, then the SC-37 would be at my place too!

ENJOY,ENJOY,ENJOY!!!!

Im a huge fan of Bowers&Wilkins, have owned a number of their speakers & will probably always have something of theirs no matter what else i get into.

Post some pics when you get a chance!!

first off Thanks. I was able to listen to an SC-37 at a local Hi-Fi shop and was pleasantly surprised, however I did not get to hear the yamaha as no one locally had one setup with b&w speakers. I am sure it would of sounded just as great if not better, My current receiver is a Pioneer Elite Vsx-90txv and it will be moved up to the bedroom to power a set of old B&W Dm302's. I figure anything in that Price range would of been an upgrade to my current receiver, Im just really happy I will finally be able to decode Dts-hd ma and Dolby True-hd. As far as B&W's Ive owned quite a few as well. I started out with a set of dm302's from saving up birthday money and lawn mowing money when I was 12, and over the years owned 603s,604s,lcr600 etc etc etc. When I bought my current system just before I moved in my first home, I almost said screw it and bought cm9's cmc2 center, and cm'5s for rear channel, knowing I wasn't going to have that type of cash to play around with once I bought the house, but i figured Ill save the money knowing that my ears would adjust to whatever I ended up buying. Anyways thanks for reading my babble. LOL

I'm surprised she is still around.
LOL, I cant really complain, because she lives with all my other hobbies. In the summer I drag race, and ride a motorcycle, and in the winter I go shooting, and mess with the Home entertainment equipment, Im an It consultant, so she is pretty much fed up with me talking about electronics and installing more and more stuff in our house. (I think the breaking point was when I sold my Mirage Omni S-12 for an Epik Empire and suggested putting 2 of them in our family room. When the first one was brought home, the second one got axed by the boss. The Epik is about twice the size of the Omni) So I guess I will cut her a break.

very glad you got the receiver and are enjoying it. Not so glad that you are thanking Uncle Sam for the interest free loan you gave them. Any time you want to give me $2000 to hold for a year at which point I can give it back with no interest, you just let me know and I'll be there for you!

HAHA. Well I see your point, in my case I would of owed taxes, because my work didnt take enough out even tho I claim 0, but because of the american hope credit (school tuiton) and interest/taxes paid on my house I got a nice refund. I havent got the Receiver yet, but believe me I am excited to see it

That's a fact. Better to have your money through the year, and owe a little at the end.

When you owe a little, that can be considered interest free to the benefit of you.;)
