....on some more "serious" home theater equipment. For one, im finally getting a larger display then my tiny 19 inch. An lg 26" display, not that big, but big enough for my room, also im not really interested in having a gargantuan display either. Getting some monitor 70's from newegg (polk, yes i like polks speakers) weighing 100 pounds each and newegg has free shipping?!? AND they're on sale for 200 about a piece? yeah too good a deal to pass up, not to mention i will be able to ditch the awful polk psw10 sub considering these towers will reach all the way down to 20hz with no problem. i also finally ordered a center channel, forget the model number atm but its the largest center polk makes. going to move the monitor 40s to surround duty. to top it all off, 100 ft of 14ga speaker cable and a copy of inception on BD.

I wouldnt get rid of the sub too quickly. The monitor 70s are -3db at 40 hz, then probably drop like a stone to 30.

So does the sub. The sub rolls off very fast and is full of port noise below 35hz, the sub is minus 3 db at 40 hz. The difference is polks speakers roll off more gradually ad do not make undue port noise. Even my 40s will make useful noise at 30hz without port noise. Granted its about 16db down. And the bass they produce is tight an accurate. The sub sucks terribly
