Can I pass Master Audio thru 7.1 analog output??

So, HDMI is out of the question due to hand shake issue between my Marantz receiver and Samsung LCD. Picture drop outs.

I only have fronts and a sub, I wouldn't really be getting the full effect anyway, But I want that dynamic uncompressed sound!

I'm currenly outputting via Optical as PCM, Which is uncompressed? I think??

When I wtch a music dvd/blu-ray I rock the Analog output of my Pioneer BDP-51fd. It has four ragin' Wolfson 8740 DACs. But for movies I would like to utilize the master audio on the blu-rays. HOW!!!???

Thanks Folks!!:)

If you BD player has analog outs, you can set your BD player to output from these and connect to your multichannel inputs.

If you don't have multi channel outputs you are out of luck.

TLS guy,

I think I understand what your saying.

I do have L and R analog out. as well as the 7 speaker outs and the sub out (7.1 analog).

Are you saying I can pass master audio thru the 7.1 analog outs?

Thanks for your help,

-mike

The Pioneer BDP-51FD has 7.1 analog out, so it will do the decoding and send the HD codecs through the analog cables and into the Marantz's multichannel inputs.

You will have to check if the bd-51 does decoding of all the high def codecs and will send them out through analog. Just because it has analog outputs does not mean that it will send out the high def codecs through them

I have never seen a blu-ray player that has 7.1 analog outs that won't decode hd codecs and send them through it. That makes no sense, considering that's really the only purpose for them.

It does decode all of them internally.
