Edit Button Time Limit

Ok I think this is getting a bit annoying for some people....especially the people doing build threads or threads with any sort of chronological progression.

Can we PLEASE get a section of the forum (DIY maybe) that has the time limits to edit a post lifted for the OP?

I started a DIY project and was going to document it.......reserved 2 posts after it so I could post pictures and stuff down the road when the project progresses.....now I go back and see that I can't edit my posts....grr....I think its extremely inconvenient when I have to read 100 pages of a thread just to get the full build story.

Agreed. Things like member gallery would also benefit from it. I want to see the up to date pictures without having to go through 20 pages to try and find it.

I don't know it's possible(current 1 hour time limit might be global only) but I think it's good idea

AFAIK they are using vbulletin which is capable of creating this functionality.

Most of the other forums I belong to use vbulletin and the edit function isn't limited at all.

I agree, most of the other forums I visit have this function.

For that stuff the mods can and will do edits for you.

Lol...thats what we want to get away from (but I think you already know that and are just being sarcastic).

uhmmmm ... nooooo ... I'm really that thick.

I thought you wanted to edit in pic's to the front of a thread as an OP.

I remember reading a long time ago that they don't allow the indefinite edit because people go back and change their stories about whatever and then people like me have more stories than a pregnant nun so I for one would feel compelled to abuse the system.

I would go back years and make like I said real smart stuff.
