DirecTV and IR Repeater

So I have encountered a problem in my current set-up. We recently got DirecTV and my IR repeater will not pass signals to the DirecTV receiver (H24). So here is the set-up (this worked fine when I had Dish Network and it still works for the other equipment).

In the front of the room under my screen I have an IR eye (Buffalo BEIR-350)mounted. This is wired through about 40ft of 4/22 wire to the component closet in the back of the room. The wire is connected to a the connecting block (BEIR100) which then goes out to the flashers.

Like I said the signal passes for my receiver, projector (which has a spliced flasher with 25ft of 4/22 wire in the middle), and Grafix Eye (ditto on the 4/22).

I am using a Logitech 676 remote, but the repater won't pass the origanal DirecTV remote signals either.

Now when I went through the Harmony setup and programmed the remote for the new DirecTV receiver it mentioned something about RF and had me walk through the steps to ensure the remote and receiver were set to IR. I have completed this step, but still nadda.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I've had many issues using IR flashers with my later model directv receivers. Have you tried testing the flasher in a variety of positions around the IR window? Also if you can maybe try the flasher mounted in front of the cabinet and not directly on the receiver.

Can you adjust the flash and repeat rate of the IR signal in the software for your remote?

Highfigh or BMX may have other suggestions. I ended up going to a URC setup and am using serial control via USB which is bullet proof.

Are you saying that you only moved the emitter from the Dish receiver to the DirecTV receiver? If so, the wire was yanked or the emitter isn't in the right place. Use a flashlight to look for the IR receiver on the DirecTV receiver's face. Otherwise, use trial and error to find out where the window for the IR receiver is located.

You posted that the Harmony remote setup said something about RF. The sat receiver can be used with IR/RF and if the Harmony doesn't control the DirecTV receiver at all, even with the emitter out of the way, you need to set the DirecTV receiver to it's default of IR only. Go back into the setup menu and make sure you can control the sat receiver with just the Harmony and it should work through the repeater.
