would Dayton Audio B652 be a good surround speaker?

so, i have money now. i was saving for a tv, but that will take a really long time to save the money for that, so i decided to buy some speakers. and back when i was a noob here i was told that i should get the Dayton Audio B652 speakers. so, my question is simple will they be good surround speakers? and will i blow them with my amp because they are rated 40 watts RMS/75 watts max and my receiver does 100 watts, but i usually keep the volume at 30-40 and the max is 75

i would use those for surrounds. if i needed new surrounds, on a big budget.
heck, i'm using boston hd5's for rears. and they are not as stout as those daytons.

idk. i am thinking they would be about the same. so, it sounds like you are tight on cash, get the daytons.

To answer your question, the MTX speaker is much better. It crtainly couldn't be any worse than that Dayton model.

Some of the Dayton audio stuff offers a nice value, others are engineered to hit a price point without much concern for anything else. That's the category those bookshelves fall into.

The best advice I can give you: If $35 + shipping for those things means that you "have money now" as you put it I would hold off on a purchase like that. SAVE. SAVE. SAVE. And then get something that you can be proud of and be excited about. Getting those things as rear surrounds would be getting something just to get something. Hold off and get your TV situation squared away!
