That's a hell of a side effect!

French guy says that his Parkinson's medicine turned him into a gay sex addict. In Glaxo Smith Kline's defense they do state that some of the side effects of their drug are intense sexual urges, (doesn't specify if the urges are gay or not). Another side effect is the desire to gamble. What the hell does this stuff do to your brain????

But I think the guy just always had gay urges and got caught by his wife so he made up an excuse.

I think the best side effect was when Robin Williams talked about anal leakage.

I'll get some for my wife and tell you what happens. If it increases her "desire" for me or a woman, either way, I win.

Does this mean Michael J. Fox will make Back to the Backside?

I think that both my meds say that on them. One for type 2 diabetes and another for cholesterol. I may as well take Imodium with my meds each morning. As a wise old man once said, ‘Never force a fart.’

This medicine (requip) is more commonly used to treat restless leg syndrome, so if any of you are taking it, better watch your corn hole... :D

The problem here is, if any of my patients came in and reported this, I'd have to keep a straight face, and that's hard to do sometimes. I've had some real "winners" too in the past. The ER patient I had with his penis stuck inside a soda bottle at 4AM was the most recent "winner". The excuses are great... now it's the medicine that's making people stick their penises in strange places...

Parkinson's disease is associated with dopamine deficiency in the Substantia Nigra. Requip is a dopamine agonist (enhances the effect of dopamine).

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that is heavily involved in pleasure pathways.
So a side effect like that described is very understandable.

Hypersexual behavior, completely understandable side effect. The homosexual aspect of it... not so much. I can't wait for the call from one of the nursing homes reporting elderly bisexual patient's running around... "doctor, do you have any new orders you would like to place?..." My reply, "Sure, consult Dr. Mark!" :D
