Yep :)

What I really want from emotiva though is like three UPA-1s

Why can't Pass Labs, McIntosh or Krell have a sale like that?:(;)
"Made in Chinese sweatshop"
vs
"Hand-Made right here in America"

For one.

There's also the advertising they have to pay dealer markup, and primary end-user's wallets to consider. They do often perform better too, although the amount of speakers in the world that would benefit from a Krell over an XPA-1 for example could be counted on one hand. Sometimes they will have discrete power supplies instead of shared power supplies, resulting in less channel crosstalk. And some of those are pure class A designs so they will require a ton of heatsinking whereas emotivas are usually only class A biased for a infinitesimal part of their power.

For what it is though, the UPA-7 is an absolute steal. Pretty much does stabily 140wpc into 2 channels / 8 ohms and around 120wpc ACD into an 8 ohm load and great performance into 4 ohms? That could be many people's last ever amplifier!

And if I was making an active tri-amped system right now, I would bite on this so easy... Unfortunately I'm broke :(

Plus, I bet there would be a backlash on the secondary market if they slashed their prices like that.

Loving my xpa-5 I picked up at emofest. Given my speakers, the upa series would probably have served my needs.

I don't know how to use it properly, I don't really need it, my wife would kill me, but damn, I want it.

Ahh, my name would be on that reserve list if I hadn't just ordered a new SVS sub...

Ultra Sub 10 for $329 Shipped

They finally put the 10" sub on sale for anyone interested.
When the 12" was $429 and the 10" was $369 it didn't really make too much sense to consider the 10" model unless you really had to save space. But now that there is a C-note between them, one or two 10" model(s) are a bit more appealing option.

I just checked yesterday and it appears as though they're no longer accepting reservations for the UPA-7. Anyone hoping to get one at this price should probably just called Emotiva direct, as I'm sure some of their reserved units will go unaccounted for.
