If the only thing you use the Wii and PS3 for are games then they will work. The PS3 won't send 1080p high def out over component if watching a BluRay because of HDCP I believe. Not sure if a DVR uses HDCP or not, I would assume so and as a result you'd run in to the same problem.
After a quick google search it looks like your TV has a DVI input with HDCP support so you could connect all your devices to the receiver via HDMI, then run an HDMI cable to your TV with a DVI adapter (or buy an HDMI to DVI cable, I have one I bought on Monoprice). This is what I'd do.
Awesome News, I few weeks ago a friend of mine gave me a thick blue cable that is HDMI on one side (PS3) and goes to the DVI input on TV!!! So are you saying that I can do the following:
Wii Component Video/Audio to AVR Component In
PS3 HDMI Out to AVR HDMI In
(Toslink Optical Cable)
Dish Receiver HDMI Out to AVR HDMI In
(Toslink Optical Cable)
AVR HDMI Out to TV DVI In
Is this the correct route? Please advise on HDMI (2) Cables to buy and Wii Component (1) Cable to buy? Also, I now do not need a receiver with so many Component In's, so what would you all recommend for under $200? My expectations are not that high, I'm currently running a Yamaha HTR-5630 (210 Watt) and I'm very happy with the sound.
