Oppo BDP-93 and Blu Ray Streaming

Ok,

So I just upgraded to the BDP-93 from the 983 (which will be for sale shortly) and, lets just say I somehow figure out how to rip all of my blu rays onto a hard drive, can I stream or play those blu rays including the 1080p/ truehd, dts master audio from that said hard drive using any of the various connections they offer instead of using the disc in the player?

It sounds like you should be able to use the eSATA and play files off of a hard drive but I wanted to know if I can play those kinds of files?

So if you have that player and have tried that it would be nice to know!

Just to clarify it is not the BDP-83 it is the 983 DVD that will be for sale but one heck of an upconverting dvd player or SACD/DVD-A player.

Not sure about the 93, but with the 83 it had to be under 500G and formatted so it would be able to read it, possibly FAT not NTFS. IIRC, there was a FAQ on the Oppo site about the requirements.

FWIW, the 983 and 83 have the same upscaler.

bd93 and NTFS

The owners manual states that the 93 supports NTFS. About freakin' time someone did. Not sure what you are ripping to, but download the manual if you haven't bought it yet and see all the formats it supports and whether that is what you ripped.
