Hello,

I've been searching a few days now for a pair of good value for money headphones. One of the interesting ones was the Sony mdr v700 dj's, however I don't want to wrap the 10 feet cable around my chest rambo style.
I listen to virtually everything, so a nice ballance and clearity are a must.
And as a traffic hazard enthusiast requires, they have to be able to isolate me from the general car honking.

So ideally I'm looking for an over-the-ear, closed cup headphone with a 2 to 3 feet cable, valued between 100 and 200 bucks.

I did read some good things here about the sennehiser 280's and grado sr80's, but what about their cable length? Is my request to niche and contradictive?

Any suggestions would be great :)

I'm pretty sure you'll be stuck with a long headphone cable. Just coil it and stick it in your pocket/bag or whatever and leave however much slack you want.

I was googling this about a week ago. Haven't tried these, but they're getting really good reviews a few places. I was thinking about checking them out.

Grado SR 60i
They did sound perfect for use with portable devices, but i'm not a big fan of the semi open back thing. Besides that, they hardly have any dealers outside of the usa.

And yeah, aside from the ultrasone HFI 2200, it seems i'll be stuck with the ten feet cables :s
