Does Anyone in the Chicagoland Area have an Epik Empire I can listen too?I have Beer!

Hey guys, I live in lockport Il and am about to pull a trigger on an Epik Empire or possibly 2, I was wondering if anyone has one I can listen to for 30 mins to an hr. I have case of beer with someones name on it!

LOL, I planned on waiting until the end of January, purely out of hope Epik comes out with an 18 inch sub, and because I the money in my pocket for the empire, im spending every free moment I have searching the sub forums. I just dont like buying HT equipment with out seeing or hearing it. 850 w/ tax although very reasonable for its praised performance is still a lot of cash for me. I just want to be sure that its worth the extra money to replace my current sub, rather than put the money in a different brand or make a more responsible decision with my money like put more cash to my car payment. (fat chance im a big kid at heart...lol)

the room is 17.4 x 14.3 x 8. Pergo covered floors with two openings one to the kitchen and one to the living room that is a bit larger with an arch. I will post pics later tonight

Yes, two Empires would be the way to go. My only concern would be that you might not be able to get much room gain due to your room being open. I would think the Empires should get down to 18hz or so with authority in your room.

I meant to take pics last night, but the batteries in my camera need to be recharged, so Ill take them tonight. Im hoping one empire will do the trick, because the fiance isn't very happy about me buying a subwoofer..lol She thinks the mirage omni s12 shakes the house just fine. As a matter of fact her exact words are "our paper house will crumble with two subwoofers and you are just plain ridiculous! Your current subwoofer does just fine with pissing off the neighbors." Originally I planned on just showing up at home with two and stacking them so she thought it was just 1 massive sub, but when my dad came over for the holidays he busted me out and told her I wanted two. Let me tell you how well that went over. I wonder if I could get away with one empire and one legend... Still want that mythical Empire on steroids Dual 18inch powerhouse. Im trying to hold out to the end of January to see if there are any new product releases, but im not gonna lie this money is burning a really large hole in my pocket and I have the shakes! I need a new sub yesterday! Thanks for all the input guys

I think you should also take a hard look at the new 15" ported HSU offering.

A single Epic will fill that room just fine for most folks. If you are a basshead maybe not, but if you are a basshead DIY is the way to go.

That looks nice. I have my concerns with the ports though.

LOL I pm'd him soon as they went up for sale, unfortunately I dont have 1200 and only have enough for one. He doesnt want to seperate the subs, so it wont work out

Well the seller changed his mind about separating the Empires, So I pulled the Trigger on one of them, One lucky empire will find itself a new inviting home Friday morning! We will see how it goes, however I still have a couple of Epik Gift certs so Im sure this empire will not be lone soldier for long. Maybe if I put a lamp on the second one my fiance will just think i bought a new end table. bmuahahahahahaha
