After having my blue ray player for a year I figured I woud finally connect it to the internet. I got onto Viera cast and that thing is boring!!! I thought after connecting to the internet I would be able to stream Netflix. Turns out you cant stream Netflix off this.

Nope, that is why I bought a BD65 :) I didn't even connect my Oppo because after having the PS3 connected the whole time I've owned it, I haven't found any real good BD live features.

more, I have the 85 which I bought for for all of the above reasons. it has 7.1 preouts for my non HDMI receiver and I can stream Netflix and everything else, the 65 can not do this.

I purchased a BD35 and connected it to the internet. It does not stream Netflix and BD Live is useless (uninterested). The single big advantage is updating firmware. It is pretty much automatic, it makes it very easy. That alone was worth it.

Yes, it is worth it.

I think you'd be lucky to get $100 for your BD60 since the 65 has already been out for almost a year and it doesn't do Netflix. I sold mine for $50

How is quality of steaming netflix audio&vid? I would be using it wirelessly. I read also if I use multi out that it doesn't use my bass management or level settings?

The video quality is no better than DVD at this time. They are saying they will move up to 1080i streaming this year (2011) though. AFAIK, the PS3 is currently the only device that streams 5.1 audio (not all movies have 5.1 currently though), but most movies have pretty good audio overall for me so far.

When you use the analog outs from the player, the player's settings are used, not the receiver's.

John and moreira, I have the 85 configured with MCH outs and digital coaxial, in the players setup menu you can select speaker presence and size and sub yes, the only options that you have in the player as far as level calibrations are dB output is 0dB as the reference and levels can only be lowered and not raised, there are test tones available but only to lower the dB output, what I did was to find the lowest speaker level and set all other speakers to that output, I ended up leaving all settings to 0dB, one thing that baffled me was that you could not select the sub when test tones were generated. Panasonic told me this was normal and not a malfunction, the 85 does not offer much bass management, what I did was go into MCH on receiver with remote and set xover and speaker levels to what I was already using for all my other sources, it would not let me to this with the onscreen menu in the receiver but was able to do so from the remote and receiver screen. I found that analog outs were very hard to discern from the coaxial output. I know this sounds confusing, because it is. Maybe someone else couyld be heplful if they own the 85.

I ended up not getting the BD65 or BD85. I ended up streaming with my laptop and connected to my TV with a PC cable with analogue audio jacks. I figured I would just wait until I get a new receiver and use HDMI to get the true Dolby hd sound.
