Hello all,
so I have only out cable outlet in my living room, but I'm trying to connect a DISH and a cable (comcast) into that one outlet. So what I'm trying to do is have cable on say AV1 and dish on AV2 so I can switch between the two of them on one tv. THe trick is I only have out cable outlet in the room. Is this even possible? Any help would be great appreciated!!!!

That is absolutely not possible. Cable and satellite are very different. There are voltages on the cable in a satellite system for phantom powering the gear on the roof for one thing. So you must use different cables for the two systems.

So have the DISH installers run a cable for their system and use the existing cable for Comcast.

Yes all that have posted are correct. You will not be able to combine both SatTV signal and Cable signal into one. You will have to run a dedicated RG6 coaxial cable for both, sorry... :(
