Suprised.. I have a Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray player. Had it over a year now with no problems, and the network connection for Netlix works great.. (wish NF would stream 1080P) I also have a 1st gen Sony Blu-ray that it several years old and have upgraded the firmware and it is still so slow to load etc. Have it in bedroom now. But is has never had any problems either.

Try a Panasonic BD65 or BD60.
I love my Samsung LCD tv, but it;s clear if you research a bit, their BR players generally seem to suck.

Bummer... it was knee jerk buy when our Samsung Plasma 46" HD 1080P went out in 13 months (glad we purchased th extended warranty) we got full store credit so I added a few $$ and got a new 55" LCD/LED 1080P and a new Samsung Bluray palyer that would go online for steaming movies from Netflix.

What sucked about them??? So I will know what to look for, as I have the extened warranty for 3 years on it too.

Thanks
Louis

Their DVD players had a lot of issues too, over the course of many years, which is why I stay clear of their players.

I got the 5500 free with a Samsung plasma at Magnolia. My opinion of this unit, while I appreciate free goods, is I would not have been sad if they just kept it. Load times are long and I have had issues with it stopping or not playing a disc. The remote controls are awful. I know this is a little nitpicky but "menu" on most remotes means going to the disc's menu. This one stops disc play and goes to the player's menu. Yes, there is another button for this but it's kind of confusing.

IMO, it's not a good player for several reasons. I would return it and get something else but most likely I will just sell it or give it to a relative I don't like :p .
