Budget, taste and maybe WAF (stay away from small cubes). You have some work to do. If you haven't developed any pre conceived opinions or don't have access to showrooms, your probably safe with the major online guys (Aperion, Axiom..etc.). And spend some bucks on a sub! ahblaza Audioholic Field Marshall Dec 15, 2010 #3 hello, what's your room size, your preferences for media, music, movies and budget. This will help in your decision. Do you plan on a 5.1 setup or two channel, give some dimensions and uses for your system and recommendations will follow.

R rmsarma Audiophyte Dec 17, 2010 #4 choices my basement is 20 x 22 ft partially occupied by a laundry, i have researched and lost with the options, looking to stay under 400 for SW, i have a PS3 and roku waiting to be connected once i get the VSX today POLK PSW505 slightly older Paradigm DSP-3400 SVS SB12 HSU research VTF-3 MK 2 Should i just opt for the LSi from POLK for Fronts, but don't want the floor standing unless they are cost effective. I am undecided to go 2 / 5 channel but open to feedback on what i can squeeze out of the pioneer. Will use it for movies and want to try the audio streaming via the sources

Those are good easy to drive speakers. 440sqft assuming an 8' ceiling translates into roughly 3500cuft. I'd confirm this with Hsu but I think a VTF-3 will fill that space just fine and dig deep.
