I would expect that the Carada screen is of higher build quality. This has been my experience when comparing them to other screens. Carada has been nicer than both DaLite and Draper, and similar to Stewart in build quality. I've used a few (but not many) cheaper screens, and while they worked, their build quality was noticably inferior. If you have a good room, then I would spend the few hundred bucks more on a better screen which will truly last you forever if you can swing it.

yea i was think that as well. What about the screen color? Classic cinema white, brillant white, or high contrast grey. The room is a deticated theater walls will be dark with light control of some kind.

Brilliant white is my preference. I think people go to grey screens far to often and a dedicated space with dark paint is ideal for a minimal gain screen.

Carada's only option is the Brilliant White. Their gray option is the worst gray option I've seen on the market. The Classic Cinema can be out performed by much cheaper options.

The Brilliant White, however, is the best white commercial product I've measured.

Have you looked at Elite Screens? Visual Apex carries them - where I got mine last week. They are priced just above VA screens and well below the Carada lines. I got a 115" 2.35:1 BW screen for $430 shipped. I have watched a few movies on it (using my Panasonic PT-AE4000U) and it is very impressive.

The screen was rather easy to assemble. Hardest part is stretching it onto the frame and thinking it is going to tear.

The screen is 25" from the top of the ceiling (due to a slope design - see picture) and the projector is mounted 27" from ceiling (to accommodate the 2.35:1 & 16.9:1 zoom feature of the projector). Projector is mounted 12' from the screen (I measured 12'6" but in the end I marked it for the mount and not the projector lens - Duh!). It worked out thankfully.

I still have to get the exact paint to match the touch ups. Note to others that it is nearly impossible to color match a flat paint (due to the level of flatness varying). But hey in "movie mode light" it is a perfect color match.

I still can't wipe off the smile when ever I fire it up!
