custom turntable plinth

hello all! i have just stumbled upon a Garrard sl95b turntable with a small vintage SS phono pre for really cheap. I know these arent exactly vintage lust objects but i have gathered that they sound very good and it runs circles around my pioneer pl-707 even with the old (cleaned and inspected) cart. It has a wooden tone arm and cool looking switchgear.

the problem: It has the cheapest looking plastic plinth i have ever seen!!
**aparently the deluxe model came with a substantial wooden plinth**
there is a walnut plinth on ebay that i will most likely buy if the price isnt crazy. but my idea is to buy a midcentury modern end table and use a router to cut out a hole to suspend the turntable in the top of the table. it would be even cooler if i could incorperate storage for records or more equipment.
anyone tried this? i cant imagine an end table isolating well, but this turntable isolates extremely well.

Yes, there is, but that turntable is not a particularly good one. Most Garrard's were mass produced, and not the best ones at that. If you want a decent vintage Garrard you need to be looking for a 301 or 401. None of the rest a highly collectible. Loricaft will only support the 301 and 401 and also the Garrard 501 which they manufacture.

There certainly is interest in vintage vinyl from this member.

man, maybe my Pioneer needs some work.... i swear this Garrard sounds better. I assumed since the zero 100 was very similar, that this deck was of decent quality. at least i only gave $10 for it. :) thanks for the advice. my pioneer is going to get a look-over with some help from somebody who knows a little bit more than I do.

Thanks!
