Never heard of such. News to me.

What will be the receiver with this signal cord you speak of?
It comes with a mini plug you can plug into your MP3 player or earphone jack.

The problem with this is that its an integrated system with a static crossover. Sure you could run line level outputs to the sub and have the line level outputs go through the sub to your existing speakers, but the sub wouldn't get a full range singal as there is a crossover in front of it with likely a high pass filter in the circuit path. This makes it impossibly to properly calibrate the sub and you will not get full range, or me able to tweak it properly.
It's not a static crossover, it gets a full audio signal, splits it into 2 at a filter, #1 low pass & #2 open range (for the rest of the signal).

I have a feeling that this "authorized dealer" is trying to SELL you something instead of trying to HELP you make a good decision.

While you have no idea of who is trying to HELP you here, you must research each reply, and use the ones you feel give you the most benefit. Just remember, everyone here is trying to HELP you.

With that in mind, I purchased my last set of Cerwin Vega speakers in 1985. I still own them today. Back then, I was the guy who had the baddest home stereo. The problem was, no-one had anything better to compare it to.

Today, I am still the guy with the baddest stereo in my small group of friends. But trust me, there are MILLIONS/BILLIONS that are better.

My old Cerwins sound like (rap, as do new ones. It's a fact.

Simple, any receiver that has an earphone or auxiliary output.
