BUT... a Terraform XL would be AWESOME!
I have contacted Mike Seaton about a Terraform XL but I have not yet received a reply. I expect that this time of year, so nothing against Mike at all. I could go that big but I wonder if Mike might have another viewpoint. I understand he is quite frank about what will work for you and doesn't try to upsell you.

In any case there are so many great subs out there I am spoiled for choice. What a great time for audio we are living in. This is great. :D

Some numbers on the JTR Captivator I posted earlier:

2011 JTR Captivator *<10% THD continuous*
119dB @ 15 Hz
120dB @ 20 Hz
121dB @ 25 Hz
122dB @ 31.5 Hz
123dB @ 40 Hz and above

At $1000/ea (minus amp) you could get four plus four behringer EP4000. Probably destroy your room while your at it and if four ported 18's can't, don't think much else will.;)
four horn loaded 18s :D

I have been told in general he is difficult to get a hold of considering his schedule. So if you have to email him a few times don't be shy.

Plunk!!!

I've taken the plunge and ordered 3 eD A7s-650's. I was over budget by a bit but I think this is the best combo for me.

1) Weight - each unit is 215 lbs. Heavy but not impossible to move around.
2) Flexibility - small enough to fit into corners and other places for proper placement. Footprint is smaller than other subs.
3) Performance - I am not sacrificing much in terms of the low end (16 Hz - 80 Hz) over the other options I looked at.

I would have liked 2 terraform XL's but I think that might take months of wait time. From what I can see these subs should be ready to go in short order. I have looked at other forums and some have reported delays from eD so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Will post pics and other test (I am not a professional but I am willing to learn) results upon delivery and set up.

BUT... a Terraform XL would be AWESOME!
Just got this email from Mark Seaton:

"
The Terraform line is not yet shipping, and unfortunately we will not be accepting orders until we are certain of a ship date."
