Every brand can have quality issues. You just hear about them more often with an internet forum to post about them. If you look over on their forum, the positive review outnumber the negatives many times over. I own or have owned four different amps from the XPA line and have never had a quality issue with them.
Well, I don't follow their forum so I wouldn't know but from what I've read here and AVS sure have me scared off. Hey...my intent wasn't to knock their products and maybe I should've worded things better but if something crops up, the warranty may come into question and shipping would generally be expensive and out of pocket for us living here.:)

+1.

As a Canadian, I would noy buy a product from a US address and then bring it up here for the sole reason of warranty coverage. If something goes wrong, you end up paying way too much on shipping alone assuming that Emotiva will cover it to begin with. I only say that because I don't know Emotiva's policy.

The OP should get the NAD here in Canada as its warrantied up here and its got the power supplies and amps to drive any speaker you could possibly hope to connect to it.

If you are interested in Emotiva products, on their home page, click on "international orders". They don't state that the warranty will be honoured outside the country, but they don't state that it won't either. There is a contact phone number and e-mail address provided, for further information. If I was in the market, I'd be very tempted myself.

I wouldn't sweat it.... Just give them a call and see what they have to say, I highly doubt that they would avoid honoring the warranty - and lose sales to an entire country, what would that say about them....

Again - I highly suggest that you not worry about buyin used, many many people on these forums have done so and you could avoid all the hassles of over the border taxing. Save you and a used seller the headaches.

I didn't take your comment as knocking the brand. I'd be concerned myself if there was a question of warranty being honored and extra shipping costs. I'm willing to bet if you look at the posts warning people off, they're from the same few individuals. I don't doubt they had a bad experience with the product, I'm just saying it's the exception instead of the rule.

I'm on the other side of the planet and they gave me the choice to send it back or they would just send me the part and help whoever installs it over the phone if needed. Can't ask for much more then that if you ask me. Most parts are just a few screws and connectors to replace them.
