Pretty much!

Although getting a long one is a good idea, as you're not placement limited.

Usually a 75 ohm shielded cable but yep, pretty much a RCA cable.

If all you have is a RCA try it, as long as you don't pick up a hum or buzz you are good to go, if you do, you may need a shielded cable.

If you need to buy one be sure to get it at Monoprice or BlueJeans. A good sub cable should cost you 10 bucks or so.

Cool. Thats what my concern was. I have a place for a new sub box but it would necessitate a sub cable of about 25ft and I had this thought in my head that this cable would be a small fortune.
Thanks,
Brian

Monoprice is da bomb! Even their shipping costs are reasonable. $15 max is all you need to spend.

If you prefer, however, you can pay upward of $400 for 'magic' subwoofer cables if you want to. Then you can brag about it to your friends who likely will fall on the floor laughing.

I will add..

You may actually spend a few dollars more if you have a need for 'twist-lock' terminators. Sometimes they are actually useful since they grip fiercely. However, if someone is pulling/knocking cables off on a consistent basis, you probably want to address that issue directly.
