Can someone model this driver for me?

Push pull will not keep the size down. In that configuration Vas is doubled and enclosure size is therefore doubled. Only an Isobarik configuration will halve Vas.
Compared to the dual opposed enclosure?

A dual opposed enclosure is no different from modeling any other enclosure, where there back or front of two cones see the inside of the box. In an isobarik configuration then only one driver surface sees inside of the box. The drivers either face each other, or are connected to the enclosure via a tunnel, with only the rear driver having access to the tuned space.

So there are two types of dual opposed. One where the drivers face each other and there is only one speaker opening (isobarik) or where the drivers face each other on opposite sides, with two driver openings in the box. In the first case enclosure volume is halved compared to a single driver, in the second example it is doubled.

So with that, I'll just stick to dual opposed setup aka Mark Seaton's Submersive and Epik Empire. I'm leaning towards the AE drivers as well, a little cheaper and from what I've read they are real performers.

Matt,

Be prepared to wait on drivers if you choose AE. I ordered 2 AV12-X with 4 of the PR15-1400 back at the end of May. I have yet to receive them and they refuse to offer a refund. They have also offered me poor communication over the entire process or offered alternative solutions.

I understand that they have been going through some problems with a supplier as well as getting in equipment to make their own supplies in house, but it still does not excuse the fact that I have been given unrealized timelines and have not received the much in terms of customer service. I have to do all of the prompting to get any updates.

To say the least I am disappointed in the experience.

Dang man! I've heard some rumblings about delays but six months wait for drivers is crazy! I'll be sure to call before ordering and if they are back logged still it will make my decision easier I suppose. I'm going to order my drivers in Dec-Jan and then the box in Jan-Feb.

That is a sealed design. The dual opposed is nothing special in the way is is done in the submersive. The idea is to stimulate less cabinet vibration. However in the days when KEF were not under the control of Chinese masters, they showed you had to ling the chassis together with a stout metal rod to realize the advantage.

From the submersive web page, this sub relies on room gain and it is advised not to use it in applications were the room is open, for instance to a kitchen. Also vaulted ceilings are a contraindication apparently.

You might want to hold off on this until you know your space.

What exactly are your goals/budget/space constraints and what do you have right now?

I don't know what he has now. He built one of Dr Edgar's lovely horn subs and in a moment of weakness sold it. An action I'm sure deep down he really regrets, as everything he is looking at is well down the food chain compared to that sub.

I still have it, it's sitting in the garage however.

I'm not at home to enjoy it anyways, lol.
No, of course not. I don't know where I left my head this morning. You are proudly serving our country protecting Hearth and Home. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much.
