Ok, strange question here.
I currently have front speakers (Boston acoustics VR3) with biwire cable running from them (+ and - from receiver splits to hi + and - and low + and - at the speaker). I am replacing the speakers with polk Audio lsi25's (just purchased) which are biwire capable, but also capable of running speaker wire to the highs's and a sub wire to the lows (the speakers have a powered sub).
Now, I obviously have the biwire speaker cable, but I also have a spare sub interconnect lying around. I was told (polk user guide) that running speaker cable to the top set of binding posts (removing the jumpers) and running the sub cable from the front preouts to the subwoofer in would produce the best sound.
However, I only have a biwire speaker cable, so can I do that (would I have to do anything to the two ends of the biwire cable not being used, besides make sure they don't touch anything else? I mean would two unused ends hanging in space degrade the sound at all)?
Or should I just connect the biwire to the hi and low binding posts and forget the sub cable until i buy a new single wire cable.
