I'd love to go, but too rich for my blood. And what's with selling them 6 friggin months in advance? Talk about fleecing the fan...

If you're into Floyd and haven't seen the Wall then this is a lifetime experience. For some of us to see the Wall is priceless.

Love PF and I love all their albums, well maybe except few first ones, like Piper and Ummagumma. I heard The Wall countless times, I have Alan Parker's The Wall (1982) (the movie) DVD, The Wall - Live in Berlin Blu-Ray and several other live concerts recordings.

However for me two major issues - price and the fact in on weekday :(

I see at the IZOD Center (Continental Arena) NJ $78.50, I don't think that's too bad. I am taking my son. That's a good time to bond since I am divorced.

I'm going with my oldest brother. He got me into Floyd back in 1980 cranking The Wall when it first came out. We'll be in the Lower Bowl directly across from the stage.

I dropped more money on seeing David Gilmour in Toronto, in 2006. I'd pay $300 a seat to see him Live again. Why? You know full well you're getting a good show.

Tickets for us went on sale Monday @ 10am. We attempted to get tickets for the first 2 shows when a 3rd was added on a Saturday. The only available tickets for that show where floors and the asking price $529.00( for a pair) which imo was a bit steap...but I would've paid that price for lower bowl seating. Needless to say I'm really bummed out now ...:(. On the other hand we bought our Eagles and they're coming to town in June so all is not lost!:)

I'm going!!!

Yay! I'm going. I'm foreign, temporarily working in US. So this is really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. I booked for the OCT show in Long Island, NY @ Nassau Coliseum for $150 (Including $14.75 convenience fee???WTF??? whose convenience) My seating is in 111 section (see map below). One half of the playfield area would have VIP seating and the stage on the other half.

htp://nassaucoliseum.com/seatingmaps.htm

This would be my first concert experience, and I'm looking forward to it. I seriously hope that this is really, really a live show. Meaning, Roger Waters in there LIVE (and alive) playing in the stage, and not screening of Pink Floyd video or satellite broadcasting of Roger playing from his home, or something.

I say this, because last year I foolishly rushed and purchased tickets for a concert advertised as a "Pink Floyd show with light works" for $40, only to find later that it is just a video screening of Pink Floyd songs with light works. I cancelled it later. Not that it wasn't worth it, because I was really expecting the Pink Floyd band.

Does anyone know if they allow us to take cameras or camcorders inside?
And if they would play the song BREATHE ???

I'm sure it will be great, but nowhere near as cool as The Wall Live In Berlin with the Scorpions, Sinead, etc... and the giant foam wall that eventually covered the band and forced the guitasrist to do his solo on a giant sky-crane. Helicopter flying overhead with people yelling. Too bad there is no Blu Ray for it as far as I know.

Unless of course you happen to be at the (one) show where David Gilmour joins Waters on stage as is rumored.

"SCOOP!!! - First Floyd Site With The News - David Gilmour To Appear With Roger Waters On The Wall Tour!!!!! Incredible as it may seem it's been confirmed by none other than Roger Waters that David Gilmour WILL appear at ONE Wall show on Roger's upcoming tour!!! In a message on Facebook Roger posted the following, which is reproduced in full here."

********************************************************

"So here's what happened. Last year, 'The Hoping Foundation' a charity that supports Palestinian refugee kids, (www.hopingfoundation.org) put on a fund raiser at Ronnie Scott's Club in London, the idea of which was to raise money by auctioning karaoke performances by various celebrities. David was there as a supporter and was moved to perform an impromptu rendition of George Gershwin's 'Summertime?' which he performed aided and abetted by supermodel Kate Moss.

In the wake of that evening, someone, I think it was David himself, came up with this 'Wouldn't it be funny', idea. What if he (David that is) were to sing the old Teddy Bears song 'To Know Him Is To Love Him' with me (Roger that is), what with us having been so famously at each other's throats for years and years. Get it!!!! Anyway he E-mailed me with this suggestion and I loved it, so then it was just a question of juggling dates and deciding to do 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Comfortably Numb' to round out our little set. Or so I thought, until he sent me a number of very musical and eloquent demos of how we could do the song in two-part harmony. I listened with a sinking heart, knowing that David, with his superior vocal skills, could sing either part standing on his head, whilst I would have to search for a different key and then struggle through hours and hours of routining a performance that lay way outside my vocal comfort zone. To my eternal shame I bottled out and told Dave I would happily do 'Wish You Were Here' and 'C. Numb', but that 'To Know him is to Love him' was beyond me.

Some weeks passed with David cajoling me from time to time, telling me how easy it would be, but I clung resolutely to my fear of failure until one day he made one final entreaty. I quote "If you do 'To Know Him Is To Love Him' for The Hoping Foundation Gig, I'll come and do 'C. Numb' on one of your Wall shows". Well! You could have knocked me down with a feather. How ****ing cool! I was blown away. How could I refuse such an offer. I couldn't, there was no way. Generosity trumped fear. And so explaining that I would probably be shite, but if he didn't mind I didn't, I agreed and the rest is history. We did it, and it was ****ing great. End of story. Or possibly beginning.

Roger

PS. Just heard from David, he will decide in due course which gig he wants to do, it will be a surprise!"

This is the reason I have absolutely no guilt spending the kind of money I do on my HT and supporting equipment, I know it seems ridiculous to many but $500 on a concert you see 1 time is beyond me for a few hours of entertainment.

I have always been a Pink Floyd fan and have loved and watched David Gilmour live more times then I can count - its still spectacular - his voice is truly timeless.

I had to pass on the Chicago concert for the entrance fee.
