Emotiva Holiday Sale

This is a much better selection of sale items, but nothing discounted quite so heavily as the UPA-5 from the Halloween sale (which was almost 30% off - actually better than 30% off if you consider free shippping!)
If anyone was planning to get a pair of XPA-1's, now is the time.
Also noteworthy is the 12" sub.

(and bump so people will notice a new sale)

Cheers

After grabbing a pair of Emotiva UOM-6.2 outdoor speakers a few weeks ago at the same pricing w/free shipping for their Halloween sale, I can certainly recommend these, particularly at this price point.

If anyone's on the fence on any of their current offerings, go for it... -TD

It is a bit disappointing to see Emotiva increased the price of their UPA-2 from $349 to $399 before discounting it to $329. I wonder how many other items saw price increases as part of this sale.

Edit: I don't know if the UPA-1 price increased to $329 (on sale for $299), but once the sale is over, for another $20, the $350 Outlaw 2200 looks like a better buy:

75Watts more power and made in USA!

Yeah, I hate when companies discount pricing of their products.

I understand the sentiment, but unless you were one of the unfortunate customers that purchased the UPA-2 at the $399 price and are outside the 30 day return window (Emotiva would likely give you the discount if you are in that 30 day return window), I can't see how the price drop is a bad thing for consumers.

Unfortunately, that's the case for any electronic purchases. Purchase price value rarely holds or increases for electronics... -TD

I'm confused.

Emotiva UPA-1
Power output (all channels driven):
200 watts RMS @ 8 ohm (0.1% THD)
350 watts RMS @ 4 ohm (0.1% THD)

Outlaw 2200
Power Output:
200 watts @ 8 ohms (<0.05% THD)
300 watts @ 4 ohms (<0.05% THD)

I just don't like the" mark it up to mark it down" mentality. And things coming in and out of sale just complicates what should be a simple decision.

Realistically is it "mark it up to mark it down" or a price increase softened with a sale? Personally I like sales, however if they bother you I'm sure Emotiva will allow you to pay more. :p

It's pretty much Economics 101. If a particular product or service is in constant demand, the price point determined by said provider of product/service is likely accurate and will allow the seller to maintain it's price point. If the product/service is not in strong demand, the price point will be adjusted accordingly.

Is it a P.I.T.A. sometimes to keep track of the pricing changes and why they occur? Sure it is. Is it expected? By most businesses that plan to continue to be in business, I'd say so...

Thanks for the correction. I had a brain-fart and was thinking of the other amps in the UPA series (125Watts), not the UPA-1 which matches the 200Watts with a better 4 Ohm rating!

That's what I figured but I also know that you know your stuff and thought maybe I was missing something.
