Need Advice

I would like know if I can hook up a radio shack Auvio sound bar to a AV receiver?
The sound bar has a two stereo RCA input jacks, one video out jack.
What I would like to do is to hook up two speakers that I have along with the sound bar if possible, or would I be better off just using the two speakers and not the sound bar?
I don't care about surround sound I would be happy with just the stereo
sound. I also have a Yamaha sub woofer that I am using along with the sound bar.

You could try the pre-out jacks or zone 2 jacks on the AVR to the sound bar....but i'm guessing it won't sound all that great.

Yes, you could do it that way as long as all source devices connected to the receiver are connected via analog audio and the receiver has analog audio outputs (most do). So for example, to play a CD in a DVD/CD player you'd have to connect the DVD player to one of the receiver's analog audio inputs and connect additional analog audio cables from the receiver's analog outs to the inputs of the sound bar.

The other speakers can just be hooked up to the normal left and right stereo speaker outputs of the receiver.

The speakers I have are Radio Shack Optamus speakers, they are like small book shelf speakers, don't know how good they are, but I used them years ago with a stereo receiver I had and they didn't sound too bad. I know there not the greatest speakers but that’s ok for now until I get better ones.
I don't have a receiver yet, and I am considering a Pioneer VSX-520-K receiver, it seems to have a good value for the money.
