That can be a hard hitting combination granted you have the right sized enclosures. I used to have nice systems in my car so I have a decent amount of experience with car systems. My opinion is to get an amp from some of the more know companies, like Kenwood, RF, Kicker, Pioneer, JL Audio, or MTX to name a few. Though many of these companies may have differences in how they measure true wattage (no standard), other brands are much more onerous of overstating output. They also tend to run hot very quickly. I consider Lanzar one of those other brands but that is just my opinion. It really depends on how much you want to spend and the type of system you are looking for, i.e. hit hard for casual listening or street competition.

BTW - this is a home theater subwoofer forum.

@_@ and here I am thinking if i get a single shiva-x2 for my car with 150 watts of amplification that it's overkill

The subs are a good choice and you can always swap the amp out fairly easily later (if you decide to do so). I think if you get better built amp you will be able to tell the difference. If you have a friend that has a different amp, hook the subs/enclosure up to it and see if you can tell the difference. Typically the bass may be tighter and extension much clearer.

Don't forget a separate 4-way amp for your midrange and highs - get some 2 or 3 way speakers with good tweeters (fronts and rears). That combined with what you have will make the system sound much better. Otherwise your low end will simply drown out anything run off a head unit (even one with a built in amp).

Forget the capacitor - just use 4-6 gauge wires with power straight to battery (using an inline fusebox near battery) and a very solid body ground (near trunk/rear). That will give you strong power and keep your charging system going. Otherwise upgrade to deep cell battery or higher output alternator (highly doubt you need either of these two items but just mention it as it can be a factor for some).

If using two amps, also use a decent power distribution block. Overall a solid installation is KEY to your system.

Get all that going and you will be looking forward to long drives!
