Don't know the status of my car...

So my office gets hit by a tornado this morning...

Drawback is I'm using a company vehicle for some travel. So I wasn't there when the tornado hit. But my car is or was when I left it. Don't know the status of my car but it was on the west side of the building and most of the vehicle damage was on the east side. Apparently there is a hole in the roof just down the aisle from my cube among others.

I don't mind if my car was totaled by the tornado. I either want it just fine or totaled. Nothing in between as that is too much to deal with for insurance.

Place is shut down so I don't know when I can get my car back. Oh well.

Plus side is only minor injuries since the tornado dropped right by the plant so there was only second of warning.

That sucks. :(

I guess you should look on the bright side and thank your lucky stars that you weren't there when the tornado hit. I hope everybody else came throught it unharmed, too.

LOL. What he said. At least you guys get a little warning, but there still isn't much you can do about protecting much besides you and yours.

Sorry to hear it though man. Hope your car is OK (or totaled)

Ha! I can at least joke about since no one was seriously hurt in the tornado. I assume since no one has been calling me or at my house that my car is still mostly in one piece. It's a good topic for jokes and it doesn't bother me if it is totaled. It's a good car but not sexy to drive. Wife won't let me get a Mustang or a Challenger before she does so I'm kind of stuck there.

The building will be shut down the rest of the week which is pretty normal considering the damage. Roof repairs are probably going slow due to the high winds. They were still gusting 40-50 mph there today. Lake Michigan was recording 20+ foot waves. Not bad for a lake.

Not exactly what I would really call a "lake", especially when flying over it. If I can't see land, that' isn't any old lake

I got my car and it's in one piece. Bummer. No insurance claim for me. I was looking forward to car shopping if it had been totaled. Oh well...

The side of the car facing East (Tornado came from SW) is completely coated with junk/dirt/debris. But it's in good condition otherwise.

Repairs are going well on the building now that the wind has died down a bit.

But new cars smell...NEW! Not like dried food stuck to the carpet from kids. Or kid barf. Or wet dog farts.

:p sigh...

LOL. I have a trunk liner to keep it from smelling like wet dog anything....and the kids are old enough to drive, so they don't barf in my car anymore :D
