Looks nice Jeff.
Nothing at all against Emotiva ( my LPA-1 is still running strong), and I've never liked the looks of Behringer, or any other pro amp for that matter, but I'll be curious to hear your take on the Emo taking the place of those amps.

I don't mind the looks since its all hidden anyway. There was something not right about the sound of the A-500's and I could never be sure just what it was. Switching back to the Yammie proved to me something was wrong somewhere.

Where do you get those baker's racks like that? I went to a Guitar center and they're talking $400 for a pro rack around that size. Sorry to hear about all those A500's. How does the sound of the A500's sound different from the 2600? More importantly what happens to the 2600? Hmmm ??? They still fetch ~$400? Jeff, I want you to pray with me. Please God give Alex a job so he can buy Jeff's 2600. Amen. :) Better yet Lord, let Alex win the lottery so he can buy whatever his monkey wants. ;)

I thought you might focus more on those light sabers. The pic's don't do those things justice. They are pretty hefty and the light comes on progressively with the accompanying audio. Also audio accompanies motion with those. That right? That really is a cool HT. I wish that I had more time up there to really get a look at the wiring. For some reason I find that stuff fascinating. I feel like I missed an opportunity there. Did you get the felt stick-ons to subdue the rattles caused by the subs?

I did get the felt just have not put it on yet. I got the rack at either home depot or lowes. I don't remember which. It was only about 60 bucks too. Yes you can buy my 2600 when I get the other stuff.

There was something going on in the upper mids and highs that I did not like about A-500's. The EP 2500 when playing full range does not seem to have the issue. Putting back the 2600 I noticed something changed right away. It almost seemed as if there was some sort of distortion going on that was making the upper mids and highs sound harsh or grating for lack of a better word. It all goes away with the 2600. I am not sure really what was going on, but I did not like it.

Either one. I like the idea of the balanced outs on the big one, but I will have to wait and see how the funds are. I am leaning towards the 80 but the 40 is no slouch and it is cheaper. It will be a few months though probably in jan or feb I am hoping.

There was something going on with that and it was subtle. However the center channel didn't seem similarly affected. Is the center from the Studio 100 series? ... if that is in fact how it works. I know it was from a model up or more current than the Monitor 7 mains.

I wonder how the vocals sound through the center being driven by the RX-V2600. I know the Studio 100 mains are difficult to drive. Greg and Warp both swore by externally amplifying them. Is there a published impedance/phase curve for your center.

That is hugely disappointing about the A500's. The thing is that not all of them were problematic. I wonder if there is a known fix to the known/suspected distortion issue. I'd hate to think that you now have 5 bricks. :(

I am sure I will find a use for them like driving outdoor speakers and such. I am also unsure if the problem exist when you run them in stereo. I had the three fronts bridged. I would not think that would cause and issue but you never know. There is nothing wrong with the tweeters in the monitor 7's as that has always been one of Paradigms strong points. The center is a studio series that I bought about 4 years ago or so. At any rate it sounds the way I think it should now and I can't wait to hear it with the Audessey correction. :)

Your welcome to come back and play some more. Anytime.

Fixed. God already knows what you really want.:p

Nice setup, Jeff. It's the kind of room I aspire to build one day...maybe not so many dolls.;)

You know, I had been seroiusly considering an A500 for my mains, but after all I've been reading about distortion issues, I think I'll pass. The EP2000 isn't much more, so I may go with that. I just didn't want to have to change out the fan. Oh well.

Nice setup, by the way. And, kudos on your newest acquisitions.:)
