Started out with plans for our theater room to have a jl f113. I couldn't justify the paying the price after doing research here among other places, now leaning towards two subs. Told the guy doing the job and he recommended two monitor audio silver series subs. Again, the price for two was about 2800. Not that the monitors are bad, but i've heard so many good things about the svs and rythmic subs that for the price I should consider. I thought I'd try to get some feed back here. The room is about 14w X 25L and will have a curtain in the back to close when not in use for get togethers. For the money, would 2 rythmiks be the way to go? or pay a little more for the svs?

I have no experience with Rythmic. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another SVS or Hsu, though.

I have heard good thinks about Rythmic but like Dave, I have never heard one.

SVS is never a bad buy.

Never heard rythmic either, but I'm sure you would be very happy with a pair of SVS subs, especially a pair of Ultras.

I kinda miss the old days when you'd walk into a store, demo what you wanted to buy, and walk out with a truckload of boxes. And i don't mean BestBuy, but a good, old-fashioned high-end audio sore.

Yeah I miss the feeling in my gut, what I don't miss is the feeling in my wallet....

Wait for Rythmik to release an HP version of the FV25 and get a pair of those!

You do know why that's not an easy thing to do, right?

Yes, but there are a lot of subs out there that just aren't as good as what you can get from SVS, Rythmik or Epik in those stores. Many of the mom n pop shops that I built rapport with over the years are gone now, so it isn't really an option these days, but I have NO problem at all recommending SVS, HSU, Epik or Rythmik. All have great products and I own/have owned products from each of them.

Listening to a sub in a treated room that may not be the same size as yours doesn't exactly tell you how it will perform in your room either.

Do some research on Infinate Baffle subs, since you have a room being built, now would be the time to have one installed. It will be cheaper, louder and more powerful than any sub you could buy (internet or store bought).
