Best Price For Acoustic Material

If you want the very best price, you have to use yellow pages, google, etc, and then start making a ton of phone calls.

Two of my friends have created their own studios, and they got REALLY fantastic prices. One of them even used OC 705 everywhere, and I forgot what he paid, but I was almost in disbelief.

Both of these guys called everywhere, and had to take a little drive to go fetch the stuff.

I definitely would do that, but I guess I'm sorta afraid that I'd get like the wrong material in a weird shape, or something. I'm very new to this. Plus, I can't drive. x.x

I live in Los Angeles if that helps any.

Will you be patient? One friend who did an entire room, staggered studs, GG, etc, got a LOT of material. I will email him, but I dunno when he'll get back to me. He is in Long Beach. edit: I can just text him . . .

Another friend from OC has got the OC 705. I will text him.

Still. . . wait. . . .you can't drive . . . . hmrz . . . you want me to contact them still?

Yes! Please do! Maybe I can get a friend to take me if the prices are good enough. I only have like 70$. XD

Ok, I texted both of them. I will likely see one of them later this week . . . so just be a tad patient. No promises here, and I'll ask what $70 can buy . . . one of the guys bought in BULK so that might have had to do with his great pricing. The other guy too, not quite, but full on studio, I dunno how many mic measurements (but a lot), using laser for perfect symmetry of positions, etc, he's using ARC software with KRKs too . . . He works for Roland . . . . and he previously worked for Yamaha, teaching people to use those $100k mixing boards.

Ok, the guy who landed OC 705 at a great rate got it here. I can't remember what he paid, but I remember being quite surprised. I suppose the 703 should be that much lower in price. The link, and phone #s are on there. BTW, he did call a lot of places . . .

Cheers. Check out youtube for videos, like this one. I know Ready Acoustics has "kits" to make DIY a lot easier, but for your budget, I think you might have to go from scratch? I have no idea if this will be the most informative video, but there are a bunch . . .

Frames can be put together with some glue or screws and cheap wood. 2x4 is very cheap in my area. Just frame it with that and fabric it with burlap also cheap.
