picked a pair of these up at radioshack for $52 dollars figuring they would sound decent as someone from this forum recommended sony headphones to me before, these are noise canceling headphones with a claimed response of 30hz-20khz, let me first of say my first impression of these things when i first listened was "really? i paid $52 for these?" they sound awful, they remind me of cheap earbuds from a dollar store, the response deviates atleast 10dB throughout the entire range and is all over the place with a harsh gritty peak on all the midrange, listening to Anata's The Conductor's Departure on them i first noticed the rhythm guitars and the snare drum were significantly louder then the rest of the instruments seeing as these are midrange instruments. the guitar sounded gritty and the snare made a grating crashing sound that is not normal at all, the rest of the music was "distant" sounding, the treble response was terrible and i could not even make out the cymbals. these headphones are not worth $50 or even $20, avoid them. another bizzare thing i noticed is with the noise cancelling enabled they sound halfway decent which doesen't make any sense. i will be returning these.
