All wires and connections appear to be correct and the system powers on. The control pod shows that audio data is being received but no sound is being produced with any of the available modes (including auxiliary input with 3.5mm input from my mp3 player to the control pod). The only problem I saw documented on the internet that could apply is with the subwoofer I purchased no longer being compatible with the older control pod. If this is the case what could I do to go about getting this system working?
sub PID: R015
Pod PID: R527

I don't think there is anything you can do about it. The sub contains the guts of the system and obviously the digital data transferred between the pod and the sub in different versions is different.

You will have to purchase units that match.

That's what I was a afraid of. But how would I know the new pod I might have to purchase is compatiable?

You found out researching the problem when you got no sound, so you could have researched it before purchase. Digital gear is fickle, so you have to be wary.
