Input select on a very old tv (perhaps 1998)

I am trying to hook up a Wii system on my old Sony tv but being very technically challenged, I cannot figure out where the the input select option is found. There is nothing in the menu section using the tv's original remote nor anything on the front panel of the tv. During the video cassette heydays I had a vcr connected to the tv, but someone else did that so I know it is possible to hook up this new system. I cannot find the instruction manual for the tv, of course.
Any suggestions so that I can begin my fitness program?? Thanks so much in advance.

First things first.

What inputs and outputs are there on thi TV?

If all you've got is one lonely cable connector, there is no input selection.

You can always find the model # and codes on the TV and look up the manual on the internet and that should help you out. What did you have to do be for when you watched movies? Did you unplug the VCR from the TV? If so use the same inputs that you used before for the VCR and same settings to watch also. I hope that helps.

On one of my old Sony TV's, I had to select number 0 for using the VCR. What is the model number of your Sony ?

A TV from 1998 isn't "very old". It's 12 years old and that's not the Stone Age for TVs.

Sony uses the TV/Video button to select the input once they have been assigned but you need to use the Menu button to assign them. Otherwise, you may be able to find an online manual.
