Ten more days til I hit the hardest 100 mile cycle run in the country.

Feel like I'm trained up right, have run up Lookout Mtn. 4 times this summer so far and did the 240 mile Peace Ride around southwest Colorado last month. But the climbs on this ride are absolutely insane! I'm 100% that I can finish, but hopefully I can do it in a reasonable amount of time. 12,700 ft. ascent. Thankfully the last 14 miles is a serious downhill run, we'll be hitting up to 60 mph.

Wish me luck! This ride is packed with pro cyclists, would love to be drunk at the finish before some of them make it!

Looks like a tough ride. I like the mt. bike riding better, but I crashed last week and I have to ride the road bike this week. Good luck.

Mountain bikes are pretty hardcore, especially those downhill maniacs. I'd rather get a bit of road rash or break my leg getting pounded by a car (happened last year riding downtown) than smash my dome on a boulder!

Good luck to you. I don't know how to ride a bike, but if I did, I certainly wouldn't be doing a 100 mile endurance race :O

My Mustang is getting about 8 MPG and the SHO gets about 18. On a single bowl of pasta and 64oz. of water I can pound out 100 miles on a bike...it just makes economical sense!
