I am trying to conect a RX-V365 to PS3. I am using the HDMI for video and optical cable for audio. The video works fine, but i can't get the audio (only via TV. I have a HDMI from the RX-V365 to the TV)
I have read that this is the way to do it, but I may be missing any configuration detail (or the equipment is just not working)

Thanks!

I may be mistaken but with the PS3 you can only get 1 digital output to work at a time. Whats your setup involve and can you run everything thru the yama? Does the 365 process audio via hdmi?

EDIT: if its all running thru the yamaha with hdmi, you do not need optical.

Sorry I don't understand your question (I am a litle basic on this topics...)

I have PS3 connected to yamaha with both HDMI and optical. Then yamaha to tv with HDMI.

I was told and read that this is the way to do it but is not working.

Thanks for the help

what is you display? you may need to feed the audio back from the display to the yamaha. What speaker setup are you using? edit.. also if Im wrong about the processing of digital outs on the PS3 did you assign the optical input correctly ?

The display is an old sony bravia (only one HDMI entry). I installed 5+1 spekers

I don't know if I have assigened the optical input correctly. I basically tried all alternatives on the PS3 audio configurations but could not get it to work.

Thanks!

most avrs require you to assign the inputs within the setup menu
