Is this still a subwoofer thread or has it been taken over by Bob Vila ... sitting on a bar stool ... doing insulation? Bring on the sub! Is it there yet? When's it coming? How's it sound with two? Do you plan on getting more? SUB! SUB! SUB! :)
Since you've been back to work a few days, I've noticed you're cranky.:D
You're just jealous, because we've been online chatting with babes, all day.

That's the one.
Every line in that movie is funny. Though it's a movie people either love or hate.
Thanks for that one Scott.

Shipped out today, should have it by the weekend.

I am wondering if I should add a SVS AS-EQ1 subwoofer EQ to the mix or if I will be able to blend them with just the AVR. They will be a different distances by about 4ft. I don't want to use a DCX or SMS-1.

I was just talking with an insulator two days ago about the spray in method and he was telling me that they now spray the foam into the whole bay between roof rafters in a vaulted/cathederal ceiling , not leaving an air space for air flow from the eaves to the ridge vent, he said as long as it is filled solid there is no way for condensation to build up between the bottom of the plywood roof sheathing and the top of your old style insulation, so that being said I guess it could become feasible to spray the foam in between all of your rafters in the attic space as well as insulate your ceiling joist and as long as you have gable vents I bet your attic would be cooler by 50% or better and it would certainly reduce any transfer of heat into the actual living space, just a thought, sawz.

This has been change back to a sub thread so- I am wondering if I should add a SVS AS-EQ1 subwoofer EQ to the mix or if I will be able to blend them with just the AVR. There will be a difference of distance by about 4ft. I don't want to use a DCX or SMS-1. My AVR has Audyssey MultEqxt Room Eq.

I'm taking my Hoagie and going home.:(:D

I would just wait and see what the AVR does with it, but I don't have experience with Audyssey MultEqxt Room Eq. so...

I'd start with the receiver by itself too and see if that works for you. No need to buy another device until you see what you've got can do already. If you bought the subs direct from SVS then I'd expect they'll give you a discount on the AS-EQ1 though :)

I agree, go with the receiver first as I am 1000% sure you will know pretty quick as to your needs for the EQ and since you pretty much know the quality that is offered up by SVS in regards to the subs and such I am sure that the SVS AS-EQ1 subwoofer EQ would be a welcome addition, heck it probably belongs in your HT anyway, :)

Getting closer, the BJC sub cables came in. Sub is scheduled to arrive between 2 and 6pm on Friday.

I see now, that my wall plate is not square. I guess that's what I get for cutting the hole without moving the credenza out of the way. Oh well, you can't see it anyway.

Crap, I have a speaker buzz likely a ground loop.

I don't want to deal with this now as I just want to jack with the new sub tomorrow.

The only things that changed were:

1. Moved sub from left side to right side
2. Added splitter to 'sub out' on the AVR
3. Ran 50ft- 75ohm cable through walls and attic terminated at wall plate where back sub will go

Buzz doesn't go away:

1. When I unplug sub
2. When I unplug new 50ft cable

I can't reach the splitter right now but I doubt that it is the issue.

My cable is UVerse which is Interner over TV so I don't think it's the issue.

What else am I missing?

Yes, the sub is plugged into a different outlet. It shares an outlet with my amp now. Same outlet that used to house the EP2500 amp for the DIY sub.

couldnt resist:)

Did you change outlets when you moved it?
