Reviews suggested it was a pretty average movie, but the PQ and AQ on the disc were quite good.

This is definitely not the film to succeed the Potter franchise. The film is mediocre on par with GI Joe IMHO. But the sound and visuals are thunderous. The scene where Percy controls the water on the rooftops is demo material.

The LFE in this movie is very impressive. This is now my new blu-ray demo for my HT. I actually thought the movie itself was very entertaining. I look forward to seeing the other books made into movies. I do agree it's no Harry Potter type of franchise but it does entertain.

The story gets 3.5 out of 5 stars, but the sound, LFE get 5 out of 5. It has some great audio/bass.

Being familiar with the printed series I was let down that they turned Percy into a high school student. But studio execs are attracted to easy money, anything that might get more teens into a theater makes the cut I guess. The LFE was glorious though, the scene with the Hydra was also gratifying.

My LFE go to BR is still War of the Worlds. That thing is a monster!

That's what I'm planning to do....just love those 2 for 30 deals at the local video store. I've mentioned before how good the LFE score was and I'll agree that battle scene atop the rooftop was demo material but I really like when Poseidon emerges from the water and he takes that first step...Wow....didn't feel that coming!

I thought there was a lot of cod's wallop and cheesy stuff, but that's just me. The favorite movie of the summer for the grandchildren was Men in Black. I also enjoyed that movie, and its very funny in a lot of scenes as well. It never takes itself seriously and the sound effects are awesome. I rate that highly as a good movie for the family to watch with children.

Thats one of my all time favourites. I love the cockroach man. He did such an awesome job on that part.

I started watching it last night and got as far as lopping the head off of Medussa. I must say that I like it very much so far. The use of surrounds in this movie as well as the LFE content is very effective in setting up the moods.

I sound in this movie is incredible. Just waiting until the final scene. You will be floored! I knew from the opening scene during the thunderstorm that I was in for a treat.

Finally got around to watching last night after having it from Netflix a couple of weeks. The sounds was great with pretty cool visuals. The story was interesting as well. Good family fun. Although Uma creep me out some.

The movie had everything I loved about Greek Mythology as a child, except the winged horse, and that omission was more than made up for by the delight of having it all brought into the modern world. How delicious! instead of Herme's winged sandals, we have Herme's winged Converse All Stars. The effects were great. Pierce Brosnan was a great centaur, and Uma Thurman was a great Medussa, and what child wouldn't want Kevin McKidd's Poseiden for a father, though Percy has some understandable issues with him.
