Polk's subs just aren't that good. No other reason. If you are using audioreview or something similar for ratings, that is also a mistake. These are not professional reviewers and most have nothing to compare the product to. Of course it has it's place on the food chain as a basic sub. However, you asked for recommendations and I can't recommend their subs. It also depends on what you are after. For music, that thing isn't bad, but if you want something that will fill a decent sized room and go deep, the PSW10 isn't it.
How big is your room? In a bedroom that particular one might be OK, but in a typical living room, no so much.
