Lol jk. We had one in our apartment but we never used it after I bought a dedicated blu-ray player. Come to think of it, I don't recall ever playing a game on it myself. Now I kinda want one lol.

actually i had multiple reasons for getting a ps3 over xbox, one is free online play, two it is a blu ray player, and three, i dont see it being replaced in the near future like the 360. i am a fan of no brand, i buy whatever does what i need it to do.

Yea I was kind of hoping that the 360 would add a br drive on the most recent renovation, but they didnt. I guess they were banking on downloadable games. I don't feel like looking it up, does ur marantz have hdmi inputs?

no but it doesent matter, my setup is only a 4.1 setup and my tv is a small 720p tv so all i need right now is component video and 5.1 sound via toslink. i don't buy center speakers because first off i dont have a giant space where alot of people are sitting off axis and second off, it means everytime i decide to upgrade my mains i must upgrade my center, not to mention these polks have excellent phantom imaging.

I love the PS3 and I am not a gamer. I bought a 120gb one on Tuesday and gave my old one to my Brother-In-Law. I set it up for him last night and as I was showing him what all it would do, I became impressed with it again. It is just a very cool machine.

the PS3 is great, i just ordered the netflix disc for mine, since PS3 doesn't require a pay subscription to use netflix, whereas the 360 requires a live gold membership to use Netflix... even though I have that.

Yes. The ps3 and the wii require a disc in the console to run netflix, the 360 does not.

Not a big deal, but still inconvenient. The disc is free; they will ship it to you and then you log in @ Netflix once with the code that comes with the disc to register it. The interface is pretty nice actually, but speed obviously depends on your connection. Via WiFi on mine, it is pause free.

i've had it since friday, but have been to busy working and when not working messing with it to come here and say i got it. i actually have an issue maybe someone can help me with, when streaming music from my pc the sound cuts out randomly for like 1-3 seconds at a time, i have a perfect connection and the router is 5 feet from both the PC and the PS3, its not an issue with the PC's network card because i have used both wired and wireless connection from the pc (just wireless for the PS3) signal strength is 100% and the speed is 150mbps. any ideas?

I had one and it's a nice system. I suggest you get Resistance: Fall of Man. It's a great game.
