Popcorn while watching movies at home?

I eat popcorn now and then but I will not eat it while watching a movie. I don't like to hear myself chewing while trying to enjoy the show. I do however like to have a soda while I watch.

I've been wanting a air popper for awhile though. The bags never taste right to me.
I prefer sour keys or the sour gummy bears over stuff like chips and popcorn. Hearing yourself and others chewing on food during a movie is annoying.

Then you might like sour patch kids IN your popcorn! Next time you buy popcorn also buy some sour patch kids drop them in, shake up the bag and eat away. Every now and then you get a delicious sour gummy treat.

Its GREAT!

Now that is a brilliant idea. That is great contrast between taste and texture. Salty, sweet, sour, crunchy and chewy all in one package.

Sour Patchs kids is what I was initially thinking of. :D Thank you for reminding me of that. I use to live close to a factory that made them and whenever I walked by it would smell like a bag of those tasty treats. :)

I've gotta try your popcorn. Chili powder and taco seasoning? Sounds great.
We do make popcorn for watching movies, but just the crap that comes in a bag. Kettle corn sometimes, even though they always put too much salt in it.
i actually do the same thing, its good.

This sort of reminds me of a bar/restaurant where they served the Russian Roulette Mozzarella plate. 6 identical looking breaded sticks, all filled with mozza, except for one that was filled with super hot sauce. Shocking.

You ever played Russian Roulette with sugar? Its loads of fun! Grab (real) sugar packets from the table (1 for ever person playing), open them, replace one of them with salt (fill to match other packets). Randomize them, have everyone pick one and on the count of 3 everyone takes a sugar shot. GOOD TIMES!

I'm not a big popcorn person, but when I get a dedicated home theater I'm gonna get one of those movie theater popcorn poppers. That's when I'll know I hit the big leagues :D
Just be careful those things really burn a person.

I wonder how fresh herbs like dill (and melted butter :)) thrown into a bowl of popcorn would taste? I bet it would work well, think of popcorn like a neutral flavor vehicle. The stuff you can do is endless.
Popcorn is neutral like chicken. We have a Basil plant outside; I wonder if a basil butter would work? We don't use butter, but once in a while can't hurt.:D

Does anyone have one of the 'real' commercial theater style poppers?

The bags may supply good roughage, but I don't believe that they are meant to be eaten.

That's what was missing at Rick's cookout!
How awesome would it have been if Mark had showed up with a hooka instead of pastries?!? :D
