Im looking at these two Plasma's:

LG60PK550 and Panosonic Viera TC-P58S2

Both are around $1500, from what I have researched the LG has better picture depth and is 2" bigger, while the Pani reviews claim it has better color.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these sets, I'm going to check out some stores this weekend and see if I can find them on display.

I just got the 50 LG PK500 and I am loving it, I can't give you anything very accurate, but after spending some time at stores looking at them I found my self liking the picture quality on the LG more as well as the screen itself and the bezel (which I find the panny's to be just plain ugly)

Between those to...its tough..could with whatever your eyes prefer....OR spend $200 more and pic up the Panasonic V10. The V10 will blow those two televisions away. IMHO of course.

I agree with the bezel, the pani is a pretty ugly TV. While the LG is really nice looking, having a better WAF. Does your LG have alot of picture depth to it?

Thanks, the V10 looks pretty sweet and has awesome reviews. I need to keep it at $1500 though.

Anyone have any experience with Samsung? The Samsung PN58B550 looks pretty good, its lasts years model but from the reviews it sounds to be superior to this years C model. I can get it for about $1530 from Electronics Expo from Amazon...

If you can stretch it to the high 1600 range, I would really go with the V10. The Panasonic G15 and G25 are excellent televisions and in your price range (about $1545.00 shipped). I have one in my bedroom and love it. The thing I really like about the G/V series is they have a THX mode that is the closest thing to getting them calibrated by a pro. Last time I had a TV calibrated I spent almost 600 bucks. I'm sure you could haggle some of the internet companies like 6ave.com or justbuyelectronics.com...

Not sure where you can still find V10s and G15s as they were discontinued a few months ago. We still have our shoot-out TC-P50V10 demo that is for sale at a very low price, but other than that we've been of of stock on Panasonic's 2009 line since May.

I know we discussed this on another thread, but I would suggest Panasonic's new G25 or VT25.

A lot of the Internet Dealers still have the G and V series in stock. I don't think he could afford the new VT25...he wants to keep it about 1500. Thats the price range of the G-series, or a great deal on a V series (hi 1600's to mid 1700's V10 prices that I've found). How's life treating you Robert?

Patrukas777, all is great in VE land! I see the G25 for about $1100 on Amazon. Our perfectly ISF calibrated V10 store demo is even less. So I think with some shopping you can find some very good values on Panasonic's plasmas.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and looked around a bit in some big box stores and saw a LG 60PK750. Found it at HHGreg for $1433 so I pulled the trigger on it. As far as aesthetics goes my wife liked this the best out of all the 60 inchers. And to me the actual picture quality is right there with its compeditors, not quite as rich as the panasonic and the samsung though. It does have a THX certified cinema mode that looks pretty nice. I will post some pics when I get a chance...

Kind of late I guess, but I've always found that LG seems to have pretty lousy QC on their products and they break a lot. Like BenQ projectors, you get a nice image, but at the end of the day (week/year/etc.) their products break or are defective far more often than a Panasonic, Sony, or Samsung typically will be.

This is a huge killing point for LG for me personally, though I've enjoyed the appearance of their product, I've also had two or three guys at work who have had their LG panels fail, while my Samsung, Sharp, Pioneer, and even Sampo keep running strong.

Well I'll give LG brand a vote of confidence...my 44" LG DLP still has the original bulb well above its suggested life cycle and my monitor is every bit as reliable...fwiw.
