Need help designing a system

Today is a good day. I am going to be pulling the trigger on a Denon 2310ci unless some last minute opportunity presents itself. So naturally I am now thinking about upgrading my speakers...lol

I haven't heard them but I fell in love with emp 355ti's...what gorgeous speakers. I liked what I read about them in that they really image midrange and highs really excellently. I am tired of speakers I run across that all seem to be engineered for drum machines in auto-repeat. I know you have to use a sub with them but Like i wasn't going to anyway. So I have to ideas in mind.

A) 355ti's for the front, some emp or Rbh for the center (not sure yet) , Emotiva ultra sub 10, and ERD-1's in the rear. something like $1700.00

or

B) Destination Audio F300T 5.1 Tower Speaker System- $799.00

I would have to get the A) in stages upgrading as I go over the next year or so. The B) package deal I could swing much sooner. Obviously this isn't an apples to apples comparison; I realize that A) is going to be most likely superior. Somehow or other I am going to feel like a fool for not taking an advantage of the great value (assumption, but a good one I think?) of A). I guess my real issue is how do the F300t's stack up against the 355ti's? I am not so much concerned with how the other components like the sub and surrounds compare, I really mostly concerned with the front floorstanders. I know that Tom Andry likes the RBH version of the F300tr's but was that prior (i think it was?) to the introduction of the 355ti's? There wasn't much in the threads I could find dealing with this and most of the discussion in the forum has died out on EMP, I assume that is because their new products have been around for a while and people are on to other things. If anyone with some real world hands on with either of these two towers could chime in with their impressions (no pun) I would be grateful. Feel free to mention other deals but really I am trying to keep my head spinning as it is. thanks...x

I think EmpTek speakers are cursed. I asked a question about the E5ti's and it killed my thread as well :)

I have never heard either of those speakers so I cannot help you out very much, however I do know the 10% off for Emotiva subs ends this Sunday if you are set on buying the Ultra 10.

Edit: Are you asking about the E55ti? I searched google for 355ti and could not find anything.

Shoot my post is confusing...you look at it you think it makes perfect sense then the 3rd time you read it you realize your an idiot...

what I meant to say was a system based around E55ti's

or the great value of B - the the package deal for $799.

I've never listened to EMP speakers before.

I like DefTech speakers, NHT speakers, Dali, MartinLogan.

I've listened to $10K Krell towers and thought they sucked like Bose speakers.

I've listened to B&W 800s and was underwhelmed.

I've also listened some Paradigm Studio 100s and thought they sucked.

I've listened to some Polk & JBL speakers at Best Buy and thought they sucked.

I've listened to some Klipsch & Mirage towers at Ultimate Electronics and thought they sounded pretty good.

Whever speakers you get, make sure they have a great return policy!!!

Thanks,
Emp does pick up the return shipping on that speaker...pretty fair I think.

These?

Tom seems to like them but he has cauliflower ears. :D

No, just kidding !!! Step away from the ban button !!!

Seriously I think his reviews have merit. I mean it's what he does for a living. Now for the guy who wanted a comparison between the lesser EMP's and the 362's I don't think a lot of people have heard the EMP's and the 362's are like the the speakers to have at their price point. I have it on good authority that the lesser EMP's are really good looking but sound like $600 speakers which they are.

I would really have to think this over if it were me before pulling the trigger. I guess with the return policy you're covered though. Get what you want a piece at a time if you have to. Otherwise you'll end up not having the things you want and you won't have the money you spent. ;)

EDIT: I think you might get more replies by stating your budget, room size and objectives for the system. That leaves people room to speak on what they know.
