Today is a good day. I am going to be pulling the trigger on a Denon 2310ci unless some last minute opportunity presents itself. So naturally I am now thinking about upgrading my speakers...lol
I haven't heard them but I fell in love with emp 355ti's...what gorgeous speakers. I liked what I read about them in that they really image midrange and highs really excellently. I am tired of speakers I run across that all seem to be engineered for drum machines in auto-repeat. I know you have to use a sub with them but Like i wasn't going to anyway. So I have to ideas in mind.
A) 355ti's for the front, some emp or Rbh for the center (not sure yet) , Emotiva ultra sub 10, and ERD-1's in the rear. something like $1700.00
or
B) Destination Audio F300T 5.1 Tower Speaker System- $799.00
I would have to get the A) in stages upgrading as I go over the next year or so. The B) package deal I could swing much sooner. Obviously this isn't an apples to apples comparison; I realize that A) is going to be most likely superior. Somehow or other I am going to feel like a fool for not taking an advantage of the great value (assumption, but a good one I think?) of A). I guess my real issue is how do the F300t's stack up against the 355ti's? I am not so much concerned with how the other components like the sub and surrounds compare, I really mostly concerned with the front floorstanders. I know that Tom Andry likes the RBH version of the F300tr's but was that prior (i think it was?) to the introduction of the 355ti's? There wasn't much in the threads I could find dealing with this and most of the discussion in the forum has died out on EMP, I assume that is because their new products have been around for a while and people are on to other things. If anyone with some real world hands on with either of these two towers could chime in with their impressions (no pun) I would be grateful. Feel free to mention other deals but really I am trying to keep my head spinning as it is. thanks...x
