I recently posted a thread on actually completely dropping my sub out of my system and replacing it (and the current fronts) with something more high-end that could replace both. My thought was that since most of my listening was for music (say 80%), I could live without a sub. Also, I have an SVS cylinder - which is big and pretty ugly, though it's built well and performs.
After some back and forth, I think most posters advised that I might be better keeping the fronts I have (studio 40 v4s) and getting one or two subs of the sealed variety. But for WAF, whatever I get MUST be pretty.
My attention was drawn to the Ascends in gloss black. The downfiring 15s in particular caught my eye because they seem to be just the right size and have recieved a lot of positive praise re: performance.
But I don't know much about the company or its subs - seems to have been built mainly on its speaker building prowess.
Can people give me some thoughts on the company (service?) and the fit and finish of their subs? How would it compare with SVS for example (or others) in terms of quality?
