OK, I'll admit I love the movie "Independence Day"*, but...

..how many times is it going to be on TV nowadays? I can barely turn it on and not find it somewhere, usually on "E".

Has it become a July 4th icon much as what "A Christmas Story" has become to December 25th?

* Yeah, I know it's corny, but I like it anyway.

Will Smith is going to use Independence Day as a platform to run for president. You, Jeff and Rick will be campaigning for him once he offers you a way to get behind ridding the planet of those pesky aliens.

Clear & Present Danger has been on the last 10 times I went to see my grandparents. I don't recall what station though.

I think Independence Day sealed its fate when the movie was released on July 4th. Great marketing, but, it should be viewed as a good movie and not simply a "seasonal" flick that it has turned into.

In Part 2 I hear that the UN will convene a commission headed by North Korea, Venezuela, and Libya, and the US will be severely sanctioned for the use of nuclear weapons in a reckless fashion causing death to its own citizens. Bill Pullman will be extradited and face trial in the World Court for genocide because he single handedly oversaw the extermination of an entire alien race. Vivica A. Fox will do a Penthouse spread, divorce Will Smith, and marry Ray J. So I've heard.

You ought to try this on those pesky ground hogs that plague you.
Not anymore.
When BBQ'd on the grill most people say they taste just like chicken.
Or at least that's what you guys said last Saturday:D

I've had great success getting rid of those on my property with this.

In a couple of days, the crows and who knows what else gets rid of the body(ies).

Its the same in the UK on Channel 4, about every three weeks on a Saturday night you turn the TV on and go to channel 4 and you can already guess whats on. Its, Independence day, again......
They do it with loads of films on the 'commercial' channels (i.e not the BBC) about every 12 weeks the film selection on ITV seems to repeat itself. They just finished showing the first 3 Rambo films so now they'll be onto some other series, probably Dirty Harry or something based on past experience.
