Popcorn while watching movies at home?

How many members make their own popcorn while watching movies at home?

The reason I ask: We get our popcorn from a place in Ohio, and I just reordered popcorn from them and found out we go through about 50Lbs a year!
We use a Stir-Crazy popper by Westbend nothing fancy but it works well for the two of us. Topped with no butter, but use a home mix of chili powder and taco seasoning.

I've gotta try your popcorn. Chili powder and taco seasoning? Sounds great.
We do make popcorn for watching movies, but just the crap that comes in a bag. Kettle corn sometimes, even though they always put too much salt in it.

Hm, never thought of putting that on popcorn before...I bet my wife would like that.

Orville has a new microwave kind out with lime and salt. I bought it because I like to try different things (tried their Cinnabon version a while back...horrible). My wife thought it looked weird, but when I made it she tried it. To our surprise it was actually quite good, good enough that she had it again a couple of weeks later (it's been months since she's made popcorn).

I go to GFS and get the 5lb bag of Orville corn and a 1 gallon of the Popcorn Oil + the Flavacol.

I don't do a lot of Potato or other chips so Pop-corn is my main snack of choice.

I turned my business partner onto a theater style pop-corn machine with those 4/6/8 oz portion packs (corn on one side and the goop on the other). Oh dear god is that wonderful stuff. I would be dead of a coronary in a year if I had that setup.

We usually microwave a bag. I got a cheap hot air popper for x-mas I need to use more often. Butter no salt for me but I think I might try your "foodie" version.:)

One time I took taco seasoning into the bedroom and got in trouble for it...

We make popcorn all the time for movies in this house. We use a whirlypop. My wife loves her kettle corn and I like mine normal style with no butter, a little garlic, and s pinch of ground black pepper.

I don't like popcorn but I will add that I have seen grated parmesan cheese as well other things such as hot sauce sprinkled onto popcorn to be used as flavorings.

I use the Alton Brown method... my two year old loves it!

The killer pastries & rolls were thanks to Mark, from a Portuguese bakery up in Newark.

I hardly ever eat popcorn (maybe once or twice every few months), but when I do, it's the microwave stuff.

I wonder how fresh herbs like dill (and melted butter :)) thrown into a bowl of popcorn would taste? I bet it would work well, think of popcorn like a neutral flavor vehicle. The stuff you can do is endless.

I ususally do the Orville Movie Theatre. I buy it by the box at Costco when they have the coupons. Soi it is about $6 for 32 bags, but some of these ideas sound really good.

I'm not a big popcorn person, but when I get a dedicated home theater I'm gonna get one of those movie theater popcorn poppers. That's when I'll know I hit the big leagues :D

Once in a while now. Or when we have guests. But we use microwave types and the 94% fat free ones:D

I eat popcorn now and then but I will not eat it while watching a movie. I don't like to hear myself chewing while trying to enjoy the show. I do however like to have a soda while I watch.

I've been wanting a air popper for awhile though. The bags never taste right to me.
