Away We Go / The Greatest

Away We Go is to be avoided at all costs. It is so completely chick flicky that redemption is not possible. As soon as my testicles drop back down I am going to forbid my g/f from picking any more movies ever again ... ever. In a movie I need the characters to be either likable or interesting. Every single character is either a bore or an @sshole ... except Jeff Daniels' character ... his character is such a self involved @sshole that I immediately liked him but he's only in the movie for like 5 minutes.

While I'm at this please allow me to dump all over The Greatest. It took exactly 55 minutes to get to a scene that didn't make me feel like I was watching people at the height of misery and anguish ... but that break was short lived. They went right back to be miserable. Who the hell thought this would be good to watch? The thing is that I generally like Brosnan and Sharandon. The characters they play are simply unwatchable.

I should have rented Tommy Boy. I hope this saves somebody some grief.

Hmmm... I didn't HATE Away We Go. Its definitely a quirky film that didn't sell out for attention. It was well made and its humor was consistent. Its just very dry and tugs at obscure emotions.

That said, I won't be watching it again, ever. Its definitely not the mainstream cup o tee.

I bet Rick will like it.

I'm gonna have to watch a weekend full of Eastwood, then go out and buy a Hummer, just to get the testosterone flowing again....

I thought that was witty and I can't believe a Newfy is sending me to the dictionary.

Repartee ... I know I only ever went to high school but I use to read a lot and I still never saw that word before.

I am tired but that's not an excuse. It comes and goes ... I guess it must have left.
