Good News...
MSRP reduced on all drivers

The new MSRP is not a sale, but rather the new MSRP going forward. We want to restore our image of not only having great products but also having great prices. We are also going to bring back the 8" TC2+ formally know as the TC-1000 into the current Epic line and we'll be introducing the new monstrous SPL-5150 as well.

New prices are active now!

That should promote more sales on these excellent drivers, the prices were way outta wack, and I can't help but think that they weren't moving any product at all with them like that...

Yeah considering I could get 2 21" maelstroms per 18" LMS Ultra's I'm not surprised. Exodus Audio has most of the best deals atm and still couldn't make it. Kevin has had to turn it into a side business. It's really sad, but not surprising. You really need commercial customers to make it in this business.

Yes true, but you get what you pay for, the build quality of the 18" or 21" MaL-X's is not even in the same league of the LMS's...

A move in the right direction. Now they might actually get considered by people looking at other DIY woofers from Exodus or AE.

The guy who built my sub also used AE drivers because they were comparable to LMS but cost much less, but with the prcie drop he elected to switch to the LMS drivers for his builds ...unless specified otherwise. I was lucky because I got a great deal on my sub...fwiw:).

Speaking as someone who's use quite a few of Thilo's drivers... the TC stuff is simply excellent. The highest-end project I've ever worked on had two of the older-model TC 10" drivers and three of their 10" PRs per cabinet, with a Hemp Acoustics 8" coax (made by Radian) and a LCY ribbon tweeter per cabinet... the dual 10" TC drivers (powered by a 500w amp per cabinet) were capable of effortless output to far below 20 Hz, at near-dangerous-to-nearby-structures levels... without any audible distortion. I don't think I EVER got one of them to bottom out, even playing stupidly bass-intensive stuff like the Poulenc Organ Concerto in G minor (16Hz pedal tones!) and the like...

I'd seriously like to work with one of the LMS drivers, if I do another project like this one...

BTW: The three 10" PRs and the amplifier are on the rear...

Regards,
Gordon.

Those are beautiful speakers! Do they have passive or active crossovers?

One value add that Kevin @ Exodus/DiyCable offers is application notes for both sealed and vented enclosures.

I wish TCSounds had some basic notes on some box builds to get going. Not everyone is going to want to design from scratch a custom enclosure every time.
